On September 10, 2026, at Hall A of the University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Danang, the 2026 Vietnam–Korea International Literature Festival was held with the participation of numerous Korean-language students from universities across Central Vietnam.

The program served as a meaningful cultural and literary exchange, providing Vietnamese students with an opportunity to gain deeper insights into Korean literature while applying their Korean language skills to literary translation and academic communication activities. The event brought together students from the University of Foreign Languages – Hue University, the University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Danang, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, Dong A University, and Duy Tan University.

Notably, the festival featured the participation of Korean writers and poets, including Chae Heeyoon, Kim Seoryung, and Song Kyeongdong. Their presence contributed to a rich academic and cultural exchange, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with contemporary Korean literature.

Two Korean Language Faculty Students Earn Awards in the Korean Literary Translation Category

In the Korean Literary Translation category, students from the Korean Language Faculty of Duy Tan University achieved notable results.

Trần Thị Tuyết Nhi excellently won Second Prize, receiving an award of KRW 150,000.

Ngô Trúc Quỳnh won Third Prize, receiving an award of KRW 50,000.

The achievements of these two students are the result of their dedication to learning, continuous practice, and ongoing development of their Korean language skills. They also demonstrate their ability to apply their language proficiency to literary translation—a field that requires translators not only to have a strong command of the language but also to possess the ability to appreciate, analyze, and convey the values and nuances of a literary work.

This achievement is also a source of pride for the Korean Language Faculty, contributing to the affirmation of the quality of its education and the students’ capacity to engage in academic and cultural activities between Vietnam and Korea.

Expanding Opportunities for Learning and Experiencing Korean Culture

Through events such as the Vietnam–Korea International Literature Festival, students have more opportunities to challenge themselves in real-world academic settings, explore Korean literature from the perspective of Korean language learners, and gradually develop their literary translation skills.

Such exchange and experiential activities also help broaden career pathways for Korean language students, particularly in translation and interpreting, culture, media and communications, and international exchange.

The Korean Language Faculty, Duy Tan University, congratulates students Trần Thị Tuyết Nhi and Ngô Trúc Quỳnh on their proud achievements at the 2026 Vietnam–Korea International Literature Festival. We hope this accomplishment will inspire them to continue developing their abilities, nurturing their passion for the Korean language and culture, and confidently pursuing further academic opportunities in the future.

The Korean Language Faculty sincerely extends its appreciation to the Ickchon Gildongmu Cultural Foundation, the University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Danang, and the Literature Translation Institute of Korea for their collaboration in organizing this meaningful event, which has contributed to strengthening cultural and academic exchanges between Vietnam and Korea.
