The Department of Korean Language was established in the context of Korean Language and Korean Studies having been taught in Vietnam for more than 20 years. Drawing on valuable experiences and lessons learned from the field, the Department’s faculty members have developed an education program based on the philosophy of “Learning through practical experience – Putting learners at the center.” The program aims to equip students with strong Korean language proficiency and professional expertise, enabling them to work effectively in Korean enterprises immediately after graduation. The Department offers four majors:

  • Korean Language – Translation and Interpretation

  • Korean Language for Tourism

  • Korean Language for Business

  • High-Quality Korean Language Program

In line with this educational philosophy, the Department of Korean Language places particular emphasis on recruiting faculty members with extensive practical experience working in Korean enterprises. This enables them to provide students with knowledge closely aligned with real-world professional requirements.

In particular, students receive instruction from 100% Korean lecturers in Phonetics and Speaking courses from their first year, helping minimize pronunciation errors and establish a solid foundation in Korean pronunciation. In addition, with a strong team of Korean adjunct lecturers, students have numerous opportunities to practice communicating with native Korean speakers on campus, thereby improving their communication skills and developing faster language-response abilities.

The principle of “Putting learners at the center” is implemented not only in the classroom but also through practical activities organized by academic clubs, including the Korean Language Club and English Language Club. Through these clubs, students can actively practice Korean and English communication, develop translation and interpretation skills, practice conducting tours in Korean, and exchange ideas to gain a deeper understanding of their lessons.

Furthermore, students have opportunities to showcase their talents and pursue their interests through the K-Pop Club and Taekwondo Club, which operate weekly with the support and guidance of lecturers from the Department.
